About Us
A Story of New Beginnings and Deep Roots. For generations, the silhouette of Mt Wellington (Maungarei : the watchful mountain) has dominated the skyline, standing as a constant guardian over the community below. It is a landmark of strength, stability, and enduring presence. However, a mountain is just rock and soil without the people who live around it. The true story of this practice lies in the continuity of care. While the branding is fresh and modern, the heart of the practice remains unchanged. Dr. Kriechbaum, the original doctor, serves as the anchor of this story. Like the mountain itself, he represents stability. Having served the community for years, he ensures that while the walls, the address, and the logo have changed, the ethos of the practice has not. He is joined by a dedicated team of doctors, and nurses—the "family" in the Family Health Centre—who bring new energy and expertise, much like the bright blue rays in the design. Today, when patients see the blue and green badge of the Mt Wellington Family Health Centre, they don't just see a picture of a hill. They see a story of a team that moved forward without leaving their values behind.It is a pledge that as long as Maungarei stands watch over the suburb, this team will stand watch over the people.
